Authorised Person (SAP) - Data Centre

We are seeking an experienced Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to join a major data centre construction project in Amsterdam. The successful candidate will oversee electrical safety, switching operations, isolations and energisation activities, ensuring electrical systems are commissioned and handed over safely in line with project requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee electrical safety and authorised operations across the data centre construction site.
• Manage and coordinate HV/LV switching, isolation, energisation and de-energisation activities.
• Prepare, review and authorise switching schedules and electrical safety documentation.
• Control permits to work and ensure safe systems of work are followed.
• Coordinate with Authorised Persons, electrical engineers, commissioning teams, subcontractors and site management.
• Support the testing, commissioning and energisation of data centre electrical infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with project electrical safety rules, procedures and applicable standards.
• Review electrical risk assessments, method statements and switching plans.
• Maintain accurate records of switching operations, isolations, permits and system status.
• Monitor electrical works and ensure risks are identified and controlled.
• Provide technical guidance to Authorised Persons and electrical teams.
• Coordinate electrical activities with the wider commissioning programme to meet project milestones.
• Support the safe handover of electrical systems to the operations team.

• Relevant electrical engineering qualification, electrical trade qualification or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) or in an equivalent electrical authorisation role.
• Strong experience with HV/LV electrical systems, switching, isolation and energisation.
• Good understanding of electrical safety rules, permit-to-work procedures and safe systems of work.
• Previous experience on data centre construction or commissioning projects is highly desirable.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams and technical documentation.
• Experience coordinating electrical contractors and commissioning teams on complex projects.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• A proactive approach to safety, quality and compliance in a live construction environment.
