  • IT Delivery Leadership: Lead the IT delivery function, taking overall responsibility for the effective execution and oversight of the project and programme portfolio.
  • Governance & PMO: Establish and embed robust delivery governance, processes, reporting and controls to provide clear visibility of progress, risks, dependencies and outcomes.
  • Portfolio Oversight: Oversee multiple concurrent projects and programmes, ensuring delivery remains aligned with business priorities, timelines and expected outcomes.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a delivery team, including project and programme management capability, creating clear accountability and consistent delivery standards.
  • Third-Party Management: Manage relationships with external delivery partners, ensuring appropriate oversight, performance management and accountability for delivery.
  • Business Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with the CIO and senior stakeholders across the business, providing clear reporting, constructive challenge and effective decision-making.
  • Transformation Delivery: Provide oversight of major business systems and technology initiatives, including ERP, CRM, infrastructure and customer-facing platforms.
  • M&A Integration: Support the organisation’s acquisition-led growth strategy by overseeing IT delivery activities associated with acquisitions and integration programmes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Develop and mature the delivery function, ensuring the organisation has the people, processes and governance needed to support its continued growth.

The portfolio includes a range of significant business and technology initiatives, including:

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 programmes spanning Finance & Operations, Customer Engagement and CRM.
  • Telephony system replacement.
  • Wide Area Network (WAN) transformation.
  • Development of a new customer portal.
  • IT integration and transformation associated with ongoing mergers and acquisitions.

Delivery is supported by a combination of internal teams and external implementation partners. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that appropriate governance and oversight are in place across this delivery model.

Requirements

This is a senior leadership position for someone who has already led an IT delivery function and can bring the experience, maturity and commercial awareness needed to operate in a fast-paced, results-driven environment., You will be an experienced IT delivery leader who combines strong programme and project governance with the ability to lead people, manage partners and drive delivery across a complex portfolio., * Proven experience leading an IT delivery function, PMO or equivalent delivery organisation.

  • Demonstrable responsibility for overseeing project managers, programmes and portfolio-wide delivery, rather than solely managing individual projects.
  • Experience establishing, improving or maturing delivery governance, processes, reporting and controls.
  • Previous experience working within a private equity-backed business, with an understanding of the pace, accountability and commercial expectations involved.
  • Strong experience managing third-party delivery partners and ensuring delivery commitments are met.
  • Experience overseeing major technology transformation programmes, ideally involving ERP, CRM or enterprise business applications.
  • The ability to operate confidently with senior stakeholders, constructively challenge decisions and maintain accountability for delivery outcomes.
  • A pragmatic, commercially minded approach, with the confidence to introduce structure and consistency without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • The leadership presence and resilience to thrive in a demanding, fast-moving environment.

Experience in acquisition-led businesses or IT integration following M&A activity would be advantageous.

You do not need to have built a delivery function entirely from scratch; experience of taking an existing function and improving its maturity, effectiveness and delivery performance will also be highly relevant.
