Zscaler Security Analyst

Vanguard is seeking a Security Analyst to join its Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC), supporting the Threat Mitigation Team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience administering and managing the Zscaler security platform, including Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA), Zscaler Private Access (ZPA), and related cloud security capabilities. This role focuses on Zscaler platform administration, security policy management, incident response, troubleshooting, threat detection, and continuous improvement of enterprise security controls. The candidate will collaborate with Network Engineering, Infrastructure, Endpoint Management, Incident Response, and other IT teams to maintain a secure and reliable enterprise environment. Key Responsibilities Zscaler Platform Administration: Administer, configure, monitor, and maintain Zscaler ZIA, ZPA, Cloud Firewall, Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), SSL Inspection, Browser Isolation, and Sandbox services. Security Policy Management: Design, implement, update, and review security policies while evaluating the operational and security impact of changes. Troubleshooting & Incident Response: Independently investigate and resolve escalated security incidents and operational issues in collaboration with Incident Response teams. Threat Detection & Analysis: Analyze security logs, network traffic, and multiple data sources to identify malicious activity, vulnerabilities, and emerging threats. Security Optimization: Support platform upgrades, feature enablement, testing, and ongoing improvements to security configurations and services. Enterprise Collaboration: Work with CSOC, Network Engineering, Infrastructure, Endpoint Management, and business teams on security initiatives. Threat Mitigation: Identify complex attack patterns, investigate security events, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies. Reporting & Research: Prepare detailed reports, analyze security trends, and contribute to security research and improvement projects. Technical Mentoring: Support and mentor junior team members to strengthen their technical capabilities. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. At least 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or security operations. Hands-on experience administering and managing Zscaler platforms (a key requirement). Experience configuring and managing security policies in cloud-delivered security environments. Experience supporting enterprise-scale networking and security technologies. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and incident investigation skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure security operations environment. Preferred Certifications CISSP Zscaler Certified Cloud Administrator (ZCCA) Zscaler Certified Cloud Professional (ZCCP) AWS Certified Security or other relevant cloud security certifications Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a hands-on Zscaler security professional who can manage ZIA/ZPA configurations, implement security policies, troubleshoot connectivity and security issues, and investigate threats in an enterprise environment. Candidates with a combination of Zscaler administration, network security, and SOC experience will be preferred.
