Job description
ICON Consultants is hiring an experienced network engineer to serve as the dedicated resident engineer for a large enterprise customer of a global networking leader. You’ll be the go-to technical expert for a large campus network built on Juniper EX/QFX switching and Mist AI-driven wireless. You’ll keep it running, lead troubleshooting on critical incidents, and help the customer move to cloud-managed networking.
If you’ve used Mist, Marvis, or Wired Assurance in production and enjoy being a trusted advisor to a customer, this role is a great fit.
What you’ll do
- Support day-to-day operations of a large enterprise campus network (switching, routing, wireless)
- Troubleshoot complex issues and lead root cause analysis on major incidents
- Use Mist Wireless Assurance, Wired Assurance, and Marvis AI to find and fix problems proactively
- Plan and support Junos upgrades, hardware refreshes, RMAs, and migrations to Mist
- Write implementation, validation, and rollback plans and operational runbooks
- Act as the technical liaison between the customer and vendor support/engineering teams
- Deliver status updates, operational reviews, and knowledge transfer to customer staff
Requirements
- 5+ years supporting large enterprise networks
- Hands-on Juniper EX Series and QFX Series experience (e.g., EX4300, EX4400, QFX5120)
- Production experience with Mist Wireless Assurance, Mist Wired Assurance, and Marvis AI
- Strong Layer 2/Layer 3 skills: VLANs, spanning tree, LAG, multicast, high availability
- OSPF and BGP in production
- Large-scale wireless deployments or migrations, such as moving from Cisco or Aruba to Mist
- Strong customer-facing communication and documentation skills
- Based in the U.S. and authorized to work in the U.S. (W2 only)
Nice to have
- EVPN/VXLAN
- Juniper certifications (JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP-ENT, JNCIA/JNCIS-MistAI)
- Prior resident engineer, TAM, or vendor professional services experience
- Automation with Python or Ansible
Benefits & conditions
- Fully remote, with a 1-year contract
- High-visibility role with a leading networking vendor and a major enterprise customer
- A chance to work with AI-driven networking (Mist and Marvis) at scale
