Network Engineer

A large pharmaceutical client is looking for a Network Engineer to join the team in Rensselaer NY. The Principal Network Engineer is responsible for delivering a reliable, scalable, compliant, and secure data network. Responsibilities include compiling bills of materials, and ordering, configuring, installing, and testing network components for WAN, LAN, network security, and wireless services. This role collaborates on the development, communication, and execution of network builds as the company expands globally. The ideal candidate has strong network competencies in routing, switching, wireless, and firewall technologies, along with excellent collaboration and communication skills as well as experience working in a federally regulated environment.

• 8+ years of experience with network implementation and operations in a 24x7 global network. * Experience with capacity planning, infrastructure scaling, and network architecture. * Experience operating in a Plan/Build/Run environment, utilizing a Managed Services Provider and following the ITIL v3 model. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including network/security documentation, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders from application developers to the CIO, and build effective relationships internally and externally. * Experience with regulatory compliance controls (GxP / 21 CFR Part 11) preferred.
