AWS Cloud Solution Architect - UK Insurance

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to play a key role in shaping and delivering technology solutions within the Personal Lines / Retail Insurance domain.

In this role, you will collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to design scalable, secure, and future-ready solutions that align with strategic objectives and drive business outcomes., * Design and deliver end-to-end solution architectures for large-scale initiatives and programmes

• Produce and maintain architecture deliverables aligned with established development methodologies
• Identify and manage architectural, technical, and security risks, ensuring mitigation strategies are in place
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to other architects and delivery teams
• Ensure architecture decisions, risks, and deviations are clearly communicated and agreed with stakeholders
• Drive alignment with enterprise architecture standards and long-term technology strategy
• Support system modernization and simplification, including retirement of legacy systems
• Perform design assurance to ensure solutions are implemented to the required quality and standards
• Collaborate with DevOps teams and promote Agile ways of working

• Proven experience designing solutions across hybrid (cloud + on-premise) environments, including legacy integration
• Strong understanding of modern architectural patterns, such as:
• Microservices
• Event-driven architectures
• Serverless
• SOA and layered architectures
• Experience working with AWS cloud technologies
• Track record of leading architecture governance and engaging in enterprise architecture frameworks
• Experience with RFI/RFP processes, technology selection, and vendor/supplier evaluation
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels, including senior leadership
• Ability to communicate complex architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, * Experience in Personal Lines or Retail Insurance is highly desirable
• Exposure to the UK insurance market or large-scale insurance organisations is a strong advantage, * Familiarity with Agile frameworks (e.g., Open Agile or similar)
