Data Architect

• Design logical and physical data models for supply chain products and the VALIP lakehouse (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog).
• Design databases for migrations to VA sites and the cloud.
• Set data governance, quality, lineage and access standards in line with VA data policy.
• Tune performance across SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres and Databricks.
• Senior: database administration, backups, patching and environment refreshes.

• Senior / Lead: 10+ years of experience, including 7+ years in data architecture or engineering.
• Mid-level / Level II / “Journeyman”: 5+ years in database administration or data engineering.
• Hands-on Databricks/Spark and relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres).

Desired Skills:

• Delta Lake, Unity Catalog and lakehouse design.
• IBM Maximo data and deployments.
• VA data governance and federal health data.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or a related field.
• Certified (Maximo) Deployment Professional; Certified SAFe Architect.
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer; Databricks Certified Generative AI Engineer.

Clearance:

• Must be able to obtain a Tier 2 / Moderate Risk Public Trust and a VA PIV credential.

• The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
