Job description

The Data Product Owner is accountable for getting assigned master data domains from intake to load-ready and prepared for certification. You will own the backlog for those domains, work daily with business subject matter experts (SMEs) and data stewards, drive data quality issues to decisions, and accept the team’s completed work against agreed acceptance criteria. You will be the person the business works with most directly on its data.

  • Own the backlog for assigned master data domains (for example communities, units, residents and vendors) across the migration lifecycle: intake, data profiling, data quality issue resolution, master data management, source-to-target mapping, transformation, and delivery into the enterprise data model and ERP load files.
  • Write user stories and acceptance criteria precise enough to be executed and verified, whether work is delivered through Agile and Kanban practices or AI-assisted development; refine them with data engineers, analysts and managed-services partner engineers; review and accept completed work against those criteria.
  • Track each domain’s readiness against the wave plan and raise dependency, capacity and quality risks early.
  • Triage new data requests from business teams and route them to the appropriate review and governance process.

  • Serve as the day-to-day partner for business SMEs and data stewards, and plan their time so it is focused and well used.
  • Guide business partners through what each phase of the migration needs from them.
  • Facilitate decisions with data owners on the authoritative source (system of record) for each data element, and lead source-to-target mapping sessions with business users.

  • Prepare each data product for certification by the Director, Data Products, including business definitions, lineage, ownership, quality checks and known issues.
  • Capture lessons learned after each domain and wave and feed them back into the process so the next one runs faster.

Requirements

  • 3+ years as a data product owner, business analyst or data analyst on data-intensive delivery, including 2+ years owning a backlog in an Agile or Kanban team.
  • Strong SQL and data profiling skills; able to examine source data directly to confirm or challenge a data quality issue.
  • Experience with data migration, data quality remediation or master data management.
  • Able to facilitate business SMEs, drive decisions and document them clearly.
  • Experience delivering in Agile or Kanban teams using a work management tool; interest in AI-assisted delivery practices.
  • ERP data conversion experience, ideally with property management or real estate systems.
  • Experience with a cloud data lakehouse platform and master data management tooling.
  • Community association or residential property management accounting or operations.
  • A recognized product owner certification.

Benefits & conditions

As an associate, you will be eligible for full comprehensive benefits to include your choice of multiple medical plans, dental, vision. In addition, you will be eligible for time off benefits, paid holidays, and a 401k with company match.
