Mainframe developer

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with hands-on experience in mainframe application development, maintenance, and production support. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and mainframe technologies, with the ability to analyze business requirements, develop efficient solutions, troubleshoot issues, and support mission-critical applications. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications based on business requirements.
• Write, test, debug, and optimize programs using COBOL, JCL, and other mainframe technologies.
• Develop and maintain DB2 SQL queries, stored procedures, and database integrations.
• Work with CICS transaction processing and related online application components.
• Analyze existing applications, identify defects, and implement enhancements and fixes.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and support user acceptance testing.
• Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor batch jobs, resolve job failures, and optimize batch processing performance.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, architects, and other development teams.
• Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, release management, and deployment activities.
• Follow established coding standards, security guidelines, and change management procedures.
• Support application modernization and integration initiatives as required.

• 10- 12 years of experience in mainframe application development and support.
• Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
• Experience with CICS and online transaction processing.
• Proficiency in DB2 SQL, database troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Experience with mainframe utilities, batch processing, and job scheduling.
• Knowledge of mainframe debugging, testing, and production support practices.
• Experience with source code management and change management tools such as Endevor, Changeman, or equivalent.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
