Job description
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-native backend applications using Java and/or Python.
- Build, enhance, and support microservices and REST APIs for enterprise data platform applications.
- Develop and deploy AWS-based solutions using ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, SQS, SNS, Glue, and IAM.
- Implement asynchronous processing and event-driven workflows using AWS messaging services.
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL and T-SQL queries to support application functionality and data processing.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application builds, testing, deployments, and releases.
- Use Terraform to provision, configure, and manage cloud infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Contribute to platform reconciliation capabilities, ensuring data consistency and identifying discrepancies across systems.
- Develop backend services that support application lifecycle management, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Implement resilient application designs that support fault tolerance, recovery, and multi-region availability.
- Collaborate with platform engineers, architects, QA teams, and other developers to deliver reliable backend solutions.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and improve application performance, scalability, and stability.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve coding productivity, debugging, testing, and documentation.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Relational and/or NoSQL database modeling and design.
- Apache Kafka and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with distributed systems and cloud resiliency patterns.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and/or Python.
- Cloud-native application development and microservices architecture.
- REST API development and integration.
- AWS services: ECS, IAM, Lambda, SQS, SNS, Glue, S3, and RDS.
- Strong SQL and T-SQL query-writing skills.
- CI/CD pipelines and Terraform.
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools.
- Experience with distributed applications; monolithic-only experience is not sufficient.
