Job description

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Change Manager to work for our client within the Retail sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.

Our client is seeking a Change Manager to lead the people side of a major space planning transformation.

The business is moving its space planning system from Blue Yonder to RELEX, and the role will make sure central Space Planning teams and store and retail teams are ready for, and adopt, the new tools, processes and ways of working. You will report to the Programme Lead and have no direct reports., * Define and own the end-to-end change approach, including mapping current (as-is) and future (to-be) processes

  • Translate system and process changes into clear, people-focused change plans aligned to programme milestones, cutover and go-live
  • Bring Retail into the change journey early and act as the bridge between central teams and store and field audiences, capturing and acting on feedback
  • Manage stakeholders across Fashion, Home & Beauty, Space Planning, Retail Operations, Product and Technology, and partner with SMEs and Super Users
  • Develop and deliver clear, audience-specific communications on what is changing, why, when and how teams will work differently
  • Assess change impact across roles, processes, behaviours and systems, identify risks and resistance, and run targeted interventions ahead of go-live
  • Make sure change is embedded into business as usual rather than treated as a one-off programme activity

Requirements

  • Experience leading change on a major system implementation, including impact assessment, readiness and adoption
  • Good understanding of retail space planning: macro space, grading, store layouts, space performance, concessions, tactical space and seasonal change
  • Strong stakeholder management, able to build trust quickly with SMEs, managers and cross-functional partners
  • Strong written communication, producing clear summaries, decision notes, handover materials and stakeholder updates
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint and OneNote; planning trackers such as Monday.com or Planner desirable
  • Awareness of Blue Yonder/JDA, RELEX and Power BI desirable; role-specific system knowledge can be developed in post
  • Understanding of store operations and retail critical paths desirable
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in change management, business change or transformation delivery within retail
