Job description

Eaton Syalon are delighted to be exclusively partnering with a growing business in Newark to recruit an experienced Data Administrator on a temporary to permanent basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, systems and operational processes, and who can combine strong administrative skills with an analytical and proactive approach.

Our client is looking for someone who is confident working with Excel, analysing information, producing reports and investigating discrepancies, whilst also supporting the smooth day to day running of a busy Operations team.

This isn’t simply a data entry position. We’re looking for someone who can take ownership of their work, understand how processes fit together, identify opportunities for improvement and confidently work across different departments.

Strong Excel skills are essential for this opportunity!

The Opportunity

This position is initially being recruited on a three-month temporary basis, with the intention of transitioning into a permanent role in the first quarter of 2027 for the right individual.

We are particularly keen to speak with candidates who are immediately available or able to start at short notice and are looking for a longer-term career opportunity.

You’ll be joining a busy and collaborative Operations team, supporting both day-to-day activities and wider data, reporting and process improvement projects.

The Role

  • Collecting, maintaining and analysing operational data to ensure accuracy across internal systems.
  • Producing Excel reports, spreadsheets and management information to support business decisions.
  • Reviewing and reconciling data, investigating discrepancies and ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
  • Supporting the Operations team with daily administrative activities, providing additional cover during busy periods.
  • Working closely with colleagues to identify and resolve data inconsistencies and operational issues.
  • Preparing reports, summaries and supporting information for senior management.
  • Monitoring processes, tracking outstanding actions and ensuring tasks are completed within agreed deadlines.
  • Supporting system updates, testing and the implementation of new processes.
  • Maintaining accurate records, documentation and internal reporting information.
  • Liaising with departments including Finance, Sales, Customer Service, Logistics and Operations.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve reporting, streamline processes and increase operational efficiency.
  • Supporting wider operational projects and ad hoc administrative requirements.

Requirements

We’d love to hear from candidates who have previous experience in data administration, operations administration, business support, reporting or a similarly process-driven environment.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Strong Excel skills, with experience working with formulas, PivotTables, VLOOKUPs or similar lookup functions, and larger volumes of data.
  • Previous experience in a Data Administrator, Operations Administrator, Reporting Administrator, Business Support Administrator or similar position.
  • Confidence working with data, investigating discrepancies and producing accurate reports.
  • Experience using business systems, CRM platforms or ERP systems such as SAP, Salesforce, Monday.com or similar would be advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical and methodical approach.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Confidence working independently and taking ownership of tasks through to completion.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with colleagues across different departments.
  • A proactive attitude with an interest in improving systems and processes.
  • Immediate availability or the ability to start at short notice.

Experience supporting operational projects, system improvements, reporting or data reconciliation would be particularly advantageous.

Benefits & conditions

Please note: This opportunity will initially commence as a three-month temporary assignment, with the intention of becoming permanent in the first quarter of 2027.

For further information or a confidential discussion, please contact the Professional Services team at Eaton Syalon.

Pay: £33,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
