Senior Systems Administrator

As Senior Systems Administrator at Quackcom, you are the top technical escalation point for a managed services team serving small and mid-sized businesses across Illinois and Missouri. You own server, cloud, identity, and network environments across multiple client sites, lead infrastructure projects end to end, and set the technical standard for the technicians around you. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to own problems through resolution., * Serve as Tier 3 escalation; resolve the issues no one else can and document the fix.

• Design, deploy, and maintain Windows Server, Hyper-V/VMware, and Azure environments, including backup and disaster recovery.
• Administer Microsoft 365 and Entra ID tenants: identity, security baselines, conditional access, Exchange Online, Intune.
• Configure and manage Fortinet firewalls, switching, Wi-Fi, VPN, and SD-WAN across client sites.
• Lead client projects: server refreshes, migrations, new-site builds, tenant moves, security remediation.
• Onboard new managed services clients: discovery, documentation, standardization, remediation.
• Drive security hygiene: patching, hardening, MFA, endpoint protection, log review, incident response.
• Maintain accurate documentation of client environments and configurations; log time accurately in the PSA.
• Mentor technicians and build repeatable procedures.
• Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.

• 5+ years in IT infrastructure, including 2+ years in an MSP or multi-client environment.
• Deep experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 administration.
• Hands-on firewall and network experience; Fortinet strongly preferred.
• Virtualization (Hyper-V and/or VMware) and Azure IaaS experience.
• Backup/DR design and recovery testing experience.
• Clear communication with non-technical business owners.
• Valid driver’s license; travel to client sites in the St. Louis metro.
• Preferred: Fortinet NSE, Microsoft AZ-104/MS-102, Security+; PSA/RMM experience (Autotask, ConnectWise); PowerShell; email security gateway experience; exposure to VoIP, IP camera, or access control systems.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
