Job description

• Leading the mechanical design of bespoke machinery/automation equipmentManaging projects through the full product development lifecycle
• Producing detailed 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings and technical documentation
• Driving design improvements to enhance performance, reliability and manufacturability
• Supporting prototype development, testing and validation activities
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
• Liaising with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth product delivery
• Working directly with customers to develop and deliver innovative engineering solutions

Requirements

• Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering or a related discipline
• Significant experience within a mechanical design or product development environment
• Strong 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo or similar)
• Experience designing machinery, automation equipment, or complex mechanical systems
• Excellent project management and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams
• Previous experience mentoring or leading engineers would be advantageous
