Data Center Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Technician to join our dynamic team dedicated to maintaining and optimizing critical telecommunications and IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of data center systems, including network cabling, fiber optic systems, telecommunications equipment, and electrical systems. The ideal applicant will possess strong technical proficiency, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service., * Install, configure, and maintain structured cabling systems including Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic cables, and low-voltage electrical wiring to ensure reliable network connectivity.

• Conduct fiber splicing and termination to establish high-quality fiber optic links for data transmission.
• Troubleshoot and repair network equipment such as Cisco routers, Juniper devices, VoIP systems, and telecommunication hardware using diagnostic tools.
• Perform telecommunications testing using specialized equipment to verify system performance and identify issues.
• Install and test communication systems including LANs (Local Area Networks), telephony systems like Avaya, and radio frequency (RF) testing for wireless connectivity.
• Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic instruments to diagnose electrical or hardware faults in AC/DC electrical systems.
• Maintain detailed schematics and documentation of installed systems for future reference and compliance.
• Support customer service efforts by providing technical assistance during field service visits or remote troubleshooting sessions.
• Assist with the installation of computer hardware and network wiring in data center environments.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed during all installation and maintenance activities.

• Proven experience working as a Data Center Technician or in a similar role within telecommunications or IT infrastructure environments.
• Demonstrated knowledge of computer networking concepts including Ethernet standards, network wiring practices, and network installation procedures.
• Hands-on experience with fiber splicing, fiber optic system installation, cable termination, and structured cabling installation.
• Familiarity with telecommunications testing equipment such as OTDRs (Optical Time Domain Reflectometers), cable testers, and RF analyzers.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems including AC/DC power supplies and low-voltage electrical wiring.
• Experience troubleshooting equipment issues related to LAN/WAN networks, Cisco routers, Juniper devices, VoIP telephony systems like Avaya, and related hardware.
• Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams accurately.
• Knowledge of computer hardware components relevant to data center operations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently using diagnostic tools.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and providing customer support in diverse settings.
