Job description

Supporting these interconnected operations requires resourceful, dynamic people, dependable technology, and forward-thinking solutions. We’re seeking a hands-on IT/OT Senior Systems Engineer to strengthen the critical infrastructure that supports our business. If you thrive on complex technical challenges, we’d love to hear from you!, This role has a keen focus on server management, ensuring infrastructure solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, and aligned with business objectives across NICB’s 24/7/365 manufacturing facilities in North America. The ideal candidate will directly perform complex infrastructure work, provide technical analysis and support and operate as a subject matter expert for systems management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7+ years of Server Management and IT Networking experience
  • Advanced architecture, deployment, and management of mission-critical compute platforms (VMware ESXi/vCenter required) engineered for continuous 24/7/365 operational availability and zero-downtime maintenance windows
  • Expert-level hands-on management of enterprise rack/blade hardware (e.g. Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant) and SAN/NAS storage architectures (e.g., Dell PowerStore/PowerMax, HPE Nimble, Pure Storage)
  • Design, maintenance, and testing of enterprise backup solutions (e.g., Rubrik, Veeam or Cohesity), including air-gapped backups, immutable storage, and rapid operational recovery plans to recover plant systems for hardware failure or cyber incident
  • Implementation and maintenance of hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) and ruggedized edge compute nodes deployed in plant/field environments
  • Knowledge of core storage networks (specifically 1-100Gbps Ethernet, layer 2/3 switching, routing, VLANs)
  • Understanding of the Purdue model and experience operating segmented networks to protect critical operational technology assets

Highly-Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Server Management and IT Networking experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning
  • Experience within or supporting 24/7 manufacturing environments
  • Experience with hyperconverged infrastructure (e.g., VxRail, SimpliVity)
  • Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365 administration

Nice-to-Have Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Business, IT, or similar discipline, or equivalent technology work experience
  • Familiarity with fundamental principles of ITIL, especially change management/MOC processes
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws, and adherence to privileged access principles
  • Experience with patching processes
  • Root-cause analysis: resolves underlying problems, not just symptoms

Work Conditions:

  • 40-hour on-site workweek; emergency call-in availability for 24-hour production environment
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs. unassisted
  • On average, 25% travel may be required for offsite software and system integration efforts
