Job description

Tallyforth is hiring a Software Implementation Specialist to help new customers configure the platform, prepare their data, train employees, and complete a successful launch.

You will typically manage 8-10 active customer implementations with timelines of approximately 6-10 weeks. The position does not require software development, advanced programming, or responsibility for selling additional products.

What you will do

  • Lead implementation kickoff meetings and confirm the customer’s goals, timeline, participants, and launch requirements.
  • Learn how the customer currently schedules work, dispatches employees, prepares quotes, and issues invoices.
  • Configure user permissions, service categories, workflows, forms, notifications, and account settings.
  • Guide customers through standardized employee, customer, service, and pricing data imports.
  • Review spreadsheet and CSV files for formatting issues before data is uploaded.
  • Deliver remote administrator and end-user training sessions.
  • Maintain an implementation plan with clear tasks, owners, deadlines, risks, and decisions.
  • Test configured workflows and help customers complete launch-readiness checks.
  • Escalate technical defects, unusual data requirements, and integration questions to the appropriate internal team.
  • Document the final configuration and transfer the account to customer support and account management after launch., Implementation specialists normally attend two to four customer meetings per day. The remaining time is reserved for configuration, data review, testing, documentation, and internal collaboration.

Customer meetings are scheduled during standard U.S. business hours. Occasional early or late meetings may be required for customers in different time zones, but employees may adjust their schedule on those days.

Weekend work is not normally required. A planned weekend launch may occur fewer than four times per year and requires the employee’s agreement and at least two weeks’ notice.

What success looks like

During the first 60 days, you will complete product training, observe implementations, practice configuration in a test environment, and begin supporting lower-complexity customers.

By six months, you should be able to independently manage a standard implementation from kickoff through launch and customer handoff.

Performance is evaluated through configuration accuracy, customer readiness, project documentation, appropriate escalation, customer feedback, and successful handoffs. Employees are not rewarded for launching an account before the customer is adequately prepared., Implementation specialists own their customer projects but can request assistance from technical support, product, data operations, and account management. Complicated issues are assigned to the appropriate team instead of being left with one employee to solve alone.

The team documents configuration decisions and discusses risks early. Specialists are expected to be honest about timelines and product limitations, even when a customer is requesting a faster launch.

Hiring process

  • A 30-minute introductory call with a Customer Operations Recruiter.
  • A 45-minute interview with the Implementation Team Lead covering your customer-facing experience, software knowledge, and approach to managing multiple projects.
  • A 60-minute live implementation scenario using a sample customer account and a small spreadsheet provided during the interview. You will explain how you would organize the launch, identify data issues, and prepare the customer for training. No advance preparation or take-home work is required.
  • A 45-minute panel conversation with an Implementation Specialist and a Technical Support representative.
  • Final reference and employment-verification checks, followed by a written offer.

Pay: $72,000.00 - $88,000.00 per year

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience in software implementation, customer onboarding, customer success, technical support, business systems, or another client-facing software role.
  • Experience leading customer meetings and explaining software to users with different levels of technical experience.
  • Strong spreadsheet skills, including sorting, filtering, basic formulas, data cleanup, and CSV formatting.
  • Ability to manage several customer projects without losing track of decisions or deadlines.
  • Clear written communication and organized documentation.
  • Confidence learning configurable software and troubleshooting routine workflow problems.
  • Availability during the stated Central Time core hours.

A bachelor’s degree is not required. Equivalent experience gained through customer operations, project work, software support, military service, or technical training may qualify.

Experience with CRM, scheduling, accounting, payroll, field-service, or workforce-management software is helpful. SQL, API development, and programming experience are not required.

Workload and customer schedule, Starting salary is determined by relevant SaaS experience, implementation ownership, customer-training ability, spreadsheet proficiency, software-configuration skills, and experience managing concurrent projects.
