Senior Java Backend Developer (Pure Backend)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Backend Developer to join our team supporting Walmart International. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of hands-on experience in pure Java backend development, microservices architecture, data structures and algorithms (DSA), and Apache Kafka., * Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend applications using Core Java.

• Build and support microservices-based applications using Java and modern backend technologies.
• Implement efficient algorithms and data structures to solve complex computational problems.
• Develop and maintain event-driven applications using Apache Kafka.
• Design, develop, and optimize RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and improve application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and efficient code following industry best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to design and implement backend solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, performance optimization, and production support.
• Ensure code quality through unit testing, integration testing, and appropriate debugging practices.

• Strong hands-on experience with Core Java and advanced Java programming concepts.
• Proven experience designing and developing microservices.

• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, including event streaming and messaging concepts.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP), multithreading, concurrency, and exception handling.
• Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience building scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend applications.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment.
• Willingness to work onsite in Sunnyvale, CA.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of database concepts, SQL, and query optimization.
• Familiarity with performance tuning, debugging, and production troubleshooting.
