Job description

One of our clients is looking for a hands-on technology leader to own and grow its enterprise application landscape. This is a chance to lead a talented team of developers and engineers, shape application strategy across the organization, and act as a trusted partner to business leaders. You’ll report directly to the VP of Information Technology.

What You’ll Be Doing

Building and Leading the Team

  • Recruit, onboard, mentor, and grow a team of 4-8 developers and engineers
  • Set clear goals, hold regular one-on-ones, and give timely, constructive performance feedback
  • Build a team culture rooted in ownership, inclusion, and ongoing learning
  • Resolve team conflicts, balance workloads, and keep everyone focused on what matters most

Driving Application Strategy and Delivery

  • Lead the design, selection, configuration, and upkeep of business applications that improve efficiency and give the business a competitive edge
  • Define a long-term application architecture that meets business needs and scales with the organization
  • Evaluate build vs. buy decisions, bring in new research and technologies, and create reusable designs the team can build on
  • Spot risk areas in complex systems early and ensure smooth integration between connected platforms
  • Make sure the team delivers realistic estimates, sets priorities, and makes smart trade-offs as needs change
  • Champion fresh approaches that raise quality, productivity, and responsiveness

Operations, Budget and Vendors

  • Own team budgets, headcount, workflows, and KPIs, and report performance to senior leadership
  • Identify process gaps and roll out scalable improvements
  • Manage software vendor relationships end to end, from sourcing and negotiation to contracts, support, and professional services

Partnership and Compliance

  • Work closely with HR, Finance, Procurement, Operations, and other teams to align priorities and clear roadblocks
  • Serve as the go-to contact for internal stakeholders and external vendors on business applications
  • Represent the team in cross-functional initiatives and leadership discussions
  • Keep the team aligned with internal policies and frameworks such as SOC 2 Type II and ISO standards, and support audits and reporting as needed

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience designing and supporting business applications in operations-intensive environments
  • 2+ years of people management experience with a track record of measurable results
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data into clear action plans
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Sciences or an equivalent mix of education and experience

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience implementing or managing ERP, MRP, WMS, TMS, VMS, CRM, SCM, OMS, or OT systems
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft stack, including .NET, SQL Server, Windows Server, and cloud deployments
