Job description
The role combines declarative development through Salesforce Flow with custom Apex development to improve how the organization manages funding opportunities, grant applications, reviews, approvals, budgets, awards, and ongoing reporting.
This individual will work closely with business stakeholders and technical partners to translate grantmaking requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable Salesforce solutions. The position will also help improve the experience of staff, reviewers, applicants, and grantees who interact with the platform.
Key Responsibilities
-
Design, configure, develop, test, deploy, and maintain solutions within Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud for Grantmaking.
-
Build and optimize record-triggered, screen, scheduled, and autolaunched flows to automate grantmaking and operational processes.
-
Develop and maintain Apex classes, triggers, asynchronous processes, integrations, and automated tests when requirements extend beyond declarative capabilities.
-
Configure and enhance Experience Cloud sites that allow grant seekers and other external users to view opportunities, submit applications and budgets, upload supporting documentation, and track activity.
-
Support the full grant life cycle, including funding opportunities, eligibility, applications, reviews, approvals, budgets, awards, requirements, payments, outcomes, and reporting.
-
Partner with grantmaking, finance, program, and technology stakeholders to gather requirements, map processes, recommend solutions, and translate business needs into technical designs.
-
Configure objects, fields, page layouts, Lightning pages, validation rules, approval processes, permission sets, sharing rules, reports, and dashboards.
-
Maintain appropriate security and access for internal users, reviewers, applicants, grantees, and other Experience Cloud users.
-
Troubleshoot production issues, analyze root causes, correct defects, and provide ongoing support for users and business-critical processes.
-
Create technical documentation, solution diagrams, release notes, and support materials that make the platform easier to maintain and enhance.
-
Follow sound development and release practices, including sandbox development, source control, code review, testing, deployment planning, and post-release validation.
-
Monitor platform health, data quality, automation performance, and technical debt, and recommend practical improvements over time.
Requirements
-
Hands-on Salesforce development experience in a production environment, including configuration, automation, testing, deployment, and support.
-
Direct experience with Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud and grantmaking processes or Salesforce Grantmaking functionality.
-
Strong Apex development skills, including classes, triggers, test methods, bulkification, governor limits, exception handling, and secure coding practices.
-
Advanced experience with Salesforce Flow, including complex record-triggered flows, screen flows, subflows, scheduled automation, and fault handling.
-
Experience configuring or developing Experience Cloud sites for authenticated external users.
-
Strong understanding of Salesforce security, including profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, role hierarchy, field-level security, and access for external users.
-
Ability to understand business processes, communicate with nontechnical stakeholders, and convert requirements into reliable Salesforce solutions.
-
Experience troubleshooting complex automation, data, access, and integration issues across Salesforce environments.
-
Clear documentation, communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing or enhancing an end-to-end grantmaking solution for a foundation, nonprofit
organization, public-sector agency, or other grantmaker.
-
Experience with Lightning Web Components, JavaScript, SOQL, Salesforce APIs, platform events, or middleware and third-party integrations.
-
Experience with data migration, data cleansing, duplicate management, and high-volume data operations.
-
Familiarity with DevOps and release-management tools such as Salesforce CLI, DevOps Center, Git, or comparable deployment tools.
