Lead DevOps Engineer - GCP (Local to Chicago, IL - Hybrid) in Chicago

We are looking for an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer - GCP to lead the implementation of Google’s Edge Platform across enterprise infrastructure. This role offers an opportunity to drive cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, Kubernetes orchestration, and enterprise-scale DevOps transformation.

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or infrastructure architecture. \n

• Advanced, hands-on Terraform expertise, including reusable modules, remote state, and workspaces. \n

• Strong Google Cloud Platform (GCP) architecture and services experience. \n

• Hands-on Kubernetes/GKE expertise. \n

• Proficiency in Python scripting for infrastructure automation. \n

• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Git-based workflows. \n, n \n

• Experience with Google Distributed Cloud (GDC/GDCC) and Google Edge. \n

• Strong knowledge of Cloud IAM, RBAC, OIDC, and Workload Federation. \n

• Cloud security expertise, including encryption, VPC Design, firewall policies, and service accounts. \n

• Experience with Anthos and GKE-Enterprise. \n

• Architect and implement scalable, resilient Google Cloud Platform (GCP) solutions. \n

• Design and manage Kubernetes and GKE environments. \n

• Build reusable, modular Terraform modules for multi-environment deployments. \n

• Develop secure CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Spinnaker. \n

• Implement IAM, RBAC, OIDC, and Workload Federation. \n

• Integrate GCP services, including Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Secret Manager, and Pub/Sub. \n

• Manage distributed Kubernetes workloads using Anthos and GKE Enterprise. \n

• Implement infrastructure monitoring, logging, and observability using Google Cloud Operations Suite. \n

• Partner with application, security, and DevOps teams to enforce cloud security and compliance. \n

• Optimize infrastructure performance, scalability, reliability, and cost. \n
