GIS Analyst

This position is ideal for a technically skilled GIS professional who understands geospatial databases, cloud infrastructure, GIS server environments, and enterprise mapping applications. The selected candidate will play an important role in maintaining, optimizing, and advancing GeoTel’s GIS infrastructure, geospatial data products, and SaaS mapping platform., * Esri GIS Administration: Manage, maintain, configure, and troubleshoot Esri technologies, including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Pro.

• AWS & EC2 Infrastructure: Work within Amazon Web Services (AWS), specifically EC2 environments, to support GIS applications, server performance, and cloud-based infrastructure.
• PostgreSQL & Spatial Databases: Manage, query, troubleshoot, and optimize PostgreSQL databases, including spatial data management and PostGIS functionality.
• GIS Data Management: Perform geospatial data processing, spatial analysis, data validation, quality assurance, and quality control (QA/QC).
• Enterprise GIS Integration: Support integration between Esri GIS technologies, PostgreSQL databases, AWS infrastructure, and web-based mapping applications.
• Server & Database Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve GIS server issues, database connectivity errors, application performance problems, and data publishing issues.
• GIS Web Services: Publish, maintain, and optimize map services, feature services, and geospatial data layers within enterprise GIS environments.
• SaaS Platform Support: Assist with the development, maintenance, and enhancement of GeoTel’s proprietary GIS-driven SaaS platform, TeleTracker.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor and improve GIS application performance, database efficiency, and overall system reliability.
• Technical Collaboration: Work closely with the Senior Geospatial Engineer and management to support ongoing projects and technical initiatives.

• Associate’s Degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with at least 5 years of relevant GIS experience; OR
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with at least 3 years of relevant GIS experience.

Required Technical Skills

• Esri ArcGIS Enterprise: Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Portal, including administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS): Practical experience working with AWS cloud infrastructure, particularly Amazon EC2 instances.
• PostgreSQL: Experience working with PostgreSQL relational databases, including SQL queries, database connectivity, and geospatial data management.
• GIS Data & Spatial Analysis: Strong understanding of geospatial data structures, coordinate systems, spatial relationships, and GIS data processing.
• Enterprise GIS Environments: Experience maintaining GIS services, publishing map layers, and managing enterprise geospatial databases.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and resolve GIS application errors, server issues, database problems, and system performance challenges.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PostGIS and spatial SQL queries.
• Familiarity with AWS services beyond EC2, including S3, RDS, and cloud networking.
• Experience with Esri enterprise geodatabases and database administration.
• Knowledge of Python, ArcPy, SQL, or GIS automation workflows.
• Experience supporting GIS-based SaaS applications or web mapping platforms.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS REST services, APIs, and GIS application integrations.
• Experience with telecommunications infrastructure data, including fiber optic networks, cell towers, carrier networks, or related GIS datasets.
• Understanding of cloud security, system monitoring, and GIS server performance optimization.

• Must be able to work onsite in Lake Mary, Florida.
