Data Center Technician

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems including Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic cables, and low-voltage electrical wiring to support data center operations.
• Perform fiber splicing and fiber optic systems installation to ensure reliable high-speed connectivity.
• Conduct routine inspections using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and telecommunications testing equipment to identify and resolve network issues promptly.
• Set up and maintain network equipment including Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya telephony systems, and VoIP solutions to optimize communication channels.
• Execute cable termination, wiring, and schematics interpretation for network installation projects while adhering to NEC standards.
• Support field service activities by troubleshooting equipment problems on-site using hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment.
• Perform CCTV surveillance checks, RF testing for radio frequency communication systems, and ensure proper operation of telecommunication systems within the data center environment.

• Proven experience as a service technician or in a similar data center or telecommunications role with knowledge of IT infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of computer networking concepts including Ethernet, LAN (Local Area Network), network wiring, and structured cabling installation.
• Hands-on experience with fiber splicing, fiber optic systems installation, cable termination, and telecommunications testing equipment.
• Familiarity with Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya telephony systems, VoIP technology, and RF testing methods.
• Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams related to cabling and communication system installation.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and telecommunication testing equipment for troubleshooting purposes.
• Knowledge of low-voltage electrical wiring including AC/DC electrical systems for data center power setups.
• Service technician experience with equipment repair, network installation projects, and telecommunications system maintenance is highly desirable.

Pay: $26.44 - $30.00 per hour
