Job description

The IT Support Technician provides day-to-day technical support for staff across the bank’s branches and offices. This role is responsible for maintaining hardware, software, and network systems while delivering friendly, responsive service to employees.

In a community banking environment, this position requires a hands-on, service-oriented approach, supporting a close-knit team where technology plays a critical role in delivering reliable, secure service to customers., * Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues

  • Respond to help desk tickets, phone calls, and in-person requests across branches and departments
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other peripherals
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues both remotely and on-site
  • Set up new employees with equipment, system access, and user accounts
  • Perform routine system maintenance
  • Support core banking applications, email systems, and productivity tools
  • Document issues, resolutions, and IT processes
  • Assist in maintaining IT security standards and protecting sensitive customer information
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers when needed
  • Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff as appropriate, * Primarily office-based with regular travel between local branches as needed
  • May require occasional after-hours support for system updates or urgent issues
  • Hands-on role involving setup and movement of equipment

Requirements

Do you have experience in Time management?, * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications used in daily community banking operations

  • Advanced Excel skills are a plus
  • Ability to stand, sit, and squat as needed while supporting both office and branch environments
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds (computers, monitors, and equipment)
  • Strong ability to work independently while contributing to a small, collaborative team
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to support multiple branches and departments
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of PC hardware and systems commonly used in banking environments
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, especially in multi-location environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical users (tellers, lenders, operations staff)
  • Willingness to ask questions and learn, with a proactive approach to solving issues
  • Comfortable communicating professionally with vendors and service providers
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including:
  • Confidence when working with employees at all levels
  • A friendly, customer-service mindset
  • Honesty in recognizing when additional support or information is needed
  • Strong awareness of the importance of data security, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in help desk, technical support, or IT support-especially in a bank or credit union
  • Familiarity with core banking systems or branch operations
  • Experience working in a small team or multi-branch environment
  • Customer service experience in a relationship-focused organization
  • Experience writing policies, procedures, or internal documentation
  • Technical writing experience is a plus
  • Basic understanding of banking regulations, audit controls, or information security practices
