Prin. Test Engineer - Onsite

As a Principal Test Engineer, you will lead system-level verification and validation strategy for interventional medical devices from concept through commercialization. You will drive the development of robust test methods, verification plans, validation activities, and regulatory-ready documentation while providing technical leadership across multidisciplinary product development teams., * Lead system-level verification and validation strategy, planning, execution, and reporting for new product development programs.

• Develop verification protocols, including acceptance criteria, statistical rationale, and sample size justifications.
• Design, validate, and implement test methods to evaluate system compatibility, reliability, mechanical performance, electrical performance, and tissue interaction.
• Generate regulatory submission-ready documentation, including verification reports, validation reports, and verification traceability evidence.
• Lead user needs validation activities in real or simulated use environments and document objective evidence of design effectiveness.
• Facilitate design reviews, risk management activities, and cross-functional decision-making throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Partner with systems, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, marketing, human factors, and engineering teams to ensure compliance with applicable medical device requirements and standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, laboratory personnel, and external development partners., Develop and operate CrowdStrike’s internal cloud management platform and mission-critical CI/CD pipelines. Build APIs and UIs using Go and TypeScript, improve developer productivity, integrate tooling, maintain cloud-native infrastructure, and support secure, highly available software delivery systems. Collaborate with development, infrastructure, security, and SRE teams, ensure SOC2-aware processes, and participate in on-call operations. • Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of engineering or technical testing experience OR Master’s degree with 5+ years of engineering or technical testing experience OR PhD with 3+ years of engineering or technical testing experience.
• Experience leading system-level verification and/or validation planning, execution, and documentation for complex products.
• Experience developing test methods, verification protocols, acceptance criteria, and technical reports.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering fundamentals and associated test equipment.
• Experience working effectively across cross-functional product development teams., * Experience in regulated industries such as medical device, aerospace, or defense.
• Experience testing medical devices or systems in ex-vivo tissue environments.
• Knowledge of IEC 60601 standards, electrical safety testing, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing.
• Experience with system-level requirements traceability from design inputs through verification evidence.
• Experience supporting products with integrated mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems across the full V-model development lifecycle.

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$128,800.00 - $193,200.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
