Job description

  • Customer-Facing Solution Delivery: Act as the primary technical authority for multiple client projects, translating complex business requests into actionable technical MDM designs.
  • Technical Architecture & Hands-on Implementation: Own the end-to-end technical configuration, data modeling, hierarchy management, and survivorship rule definition across Customer, Product, and Vendor domains.
  • Enterprise Integration Pipelines: Architect, test, and deploy robust batch and real-time integration streams connecting client MDM environments to enterprise systems, specifically SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), and Salesforce.
  • Data Quality Engineering: Build and fine-tune complex match/merge strategies, data profiling rules, and deduplication logic to consistently deliver pristine golden records for customers.
  • Platform Integration Mapping: Utilize your deep technical knowledge in your primary platform (Informatica IDMC, Reltio, or Stibo STEP) while fluidly assessing and integrating alternative platforms based on the specific client’s technology stack.
  • Hybrid & On-Site Collaboration: Work onsite 2 days a week at our Oakbrook office for cross-functional alignment, and travel 25% to 50% directly to customer locations to lead technical discovery workshops and oversee critical system go-lives.

Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable MDM Technical Lead to design and deliver robust master data solutions across a diverse portfolio of client environments. Based in the Chicago area, this role is a 100% technical, hands-on leadership position focused entirely on solution architecture, data engineering excellence, and customer delivery-with no direct reports or personnel management responsibilities.

In this role, you will interface directly with multiple enterprise customers to analyze their unique ecosystem requirements and build tailored, scalable data models. The ideal candidate possesses deep technical expertise in at least one major MDM platform (Informatica, Reltio, or Stibo Systems) alongside a solid working awareness of the others. You must also bring a proven track record of managing multi-domain setups (Customer, Product, Vendor) and executing seamless integration with core systems like ERPs and CRMs., * Experience: Minimum of 8+ years in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or Data Management, with at least 3+ years operating in an MDM Technical Lead or Lead Developer capacity.

  • Platform Depth: Mandated deep technical configuration and implementation expertise in at least one of the following platforms:
  • Informatica MDM (Multidomain, Customer 360, or IDMC)
  • Reltio MDM (Cloud-native data modeling and graph technologies)
  • Stibo Systems (STEP platform)
  • Platform Breadth: Strong conceptual engineering understanding of the remaining two platforms listed above.
  • System Integration Mastery: Proven technical background connecting MDM hubs to enterprise ERPs (SAP, D365, Oracle etc.) and CRMs (Salesforce etc.) using APIs, ETL tools, or middleware.
  • Multi-Domain Delivery: Documented technical experience building production-level models for multiple concurrent domains, explicitly including Customer, Product, and Vendor.
  • Role Alignment: Strong desire to remain in a purely technical track centered around delivery, architecture, and client problem-solving rather than administrative people management.
  • Logistics: Must reside in the Greater Chicago area, commit to the 2-day hybrid schedule in Oakbrook, IL, and accept 25% - 50% regional travel to client sites., * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a highly quantitative field.
  • Technical familiarity with enterprise iPaaS or messaging infrastructure (e.g., MuleSoft, Apache Kafka, Azure Service Bus) used to orchestrate cross-system data updates.
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to defend complex architectural decisions directly to client stakeholders and technical directors.
