Core responsibilities

  • Work closely with the IT Director on all aspects of technology at the firm, including:
  • Administer and own the helpdesk function - triage, prioritize, and resolve incidents and service requests, ensuring service levels are met and business disruption is minimized.
  • Deliver white-glove, high-touch technical support - serving as the primary point of contact for end users, including senior stakeholders and executives, with a premium on responsiveness, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Own and continuously improve the end-user computing experience across the firm.
  • Manage the day-to-day of the Citrix environment, including non-persistent (pooled) and persistent virtual desktops, published applications, and desktop image maintenance.
  • Own endpoint patch management - ensure workstations, virtual desktops, and thin clients are patched promptly to maintain a strong security posture and reduce vulnerability exposure, with appropriate testing and phased rollout.
  • Administer the Dell Wyse thin-client estate via Wyse Management Suite - device provisioning, configuration, firmware, and lifecycle management.
  • Manage the firm’s mobile device fleet through MDM (eg, Microsoft Intune) - enrollment, compliance and app-protection policies, and remote lock/wipe of lost or compromised devices.
  • Participate in an on-call/after-hours support rotation, providing coverage for critical issues outside standard business hours.
  • Handle user onboarding and offboarding - account provisioning and timely deprovisioning, access assignment following least-privilege principles, and equipment setup.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation and knowledge-base articles; drive process and workflow improvements.
  • Contribute to infrastructure projects and firm initiatives, working closely with the Infrastructure Manager.
  • Perform system administration tasks in support of daily operations
  • Key Technical Skills and Experience Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) - hands-on administration of non-persistent and persistent desktops, image management (MCS), published applications, and end-to-end troubleshooting of the user session experience.
  • Endpoint patch management using tools such as PDQ, Shavlik, or similar - including patch testing, phased deployment, and remediation.
  • Thin client/VDI endpoint management, ideally Dell Wyse and Wyse Management Suite (WMS).
  • Windows desktop OS administration and troubleshooting (Windows 10/11).
  • Microsoft 365 administration and end-user support - Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive/SharePoint, and licensing.
  • Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) identity administration including Conditional Access, MFA, and device-compliance policies, administered within established security policy.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure (light) portal navigation and basic resource administration.
  • Active Directory administration - user and group accounts, Group Policy, and file/folder (NTFS and share) permissions, applying least-privilege access; DNS/DHCP familiarity.
  • Mobile Device Management - ideally Microsoft Intune - iOS/Android enrollment, compliance, and app-protection policies.
  • Endpoint security and management - EDR, endpoint protection, and endpoint management platforms.
  • Scripting to automate routine tasks - PowerShell (primary); Bash a plus.
  • Strong documentation and process-management skills.
  • Basic Knowledge: General networking concepts - DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and VPN.
  • VMware vSphere/ESXi in a supporting capacity.
  • Backup technologies (Veeam).
  • Exposure to Linux (Red Hat) and basic-level support.
  • Data center and SAN/storage awareness.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years with virtualization, Active Directory, Windows OS and Citrix
  • Financial Services or Hedge Fund experience preferred
  • BA/BS degree required
  • Other Required Qualifications: Adaptability & Growth: A continuous learner who is open to new technologies, projects, and initiatives. You must be able to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced, diverse, and growth-oriented environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Proven ability to perform intermediate root cause analysis, resolve critical issues under pressure, and apply creative problem-solving skills with a critical eye for detail.
  • Execution: Capable of balancing multiple priorities, managing time effectively, and meeting deadlines while handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Communication & Service: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong focus on providing a high level of professionalism and customer service
