Huntington Ingalls Shipbuilding is seeking an IT Software Engineer 2 to support the NNS Access Team. This position will focus on software development, testing, code review, and web-based application development using Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, C# and .NET.

The Software Engineer will participate throughout the software development life cycle and work with the team to develop, test, review, and maintain software applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software applications and software components.
• Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Develop and maintain web-based applications using Java, JavaScript, HTML and related technologies.
• Analyze software requirements and help establish operational specifications.
• Test software and troubleshoot issues.
• Conduct and participate in peer reviews of code.
• Work collaboratively with other software engineers and technical team members.
• Support additional software development activities as assigned.
• May contribute to embedded systems software development.

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 0 years of experience.
• Alternatively, 4 years of related exempt experience may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree.
• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience testing software and participating in code reviews.
• Working knowledge of multiple programming languages and technologies, including:
• Java
• JavaScript
• HTML
• CSS
• C#
• .NET

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional programming language experience.
• Web development experience.
• Experience developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise applications.

Pay Range: $42.00-$52.00 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
