Our client is an established small business government contractor delivering cybersecurity, network engineering, IT infrastructure, and software development for mission-critical federal programs.

In this role, you will own vulnerability management and compliance for the program, running ACAS scans, prioritizing risk, driving remediation, and keeping RMF documentation audit-ready. This is a hands-on opportunity for a cybersecurity professional who wants direct impact on DoD security posture and a clear path to a permanent role with a team known for an employee-focused, family-first culture.

What You’ll Do:

  • Implement and manage the ACAS suite to run regular vulnerability scans and compliance checks across program network infrastructure
  • Analyze scan results, prioritize vulnerabilities by risk, and report findings to stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain scanning policies and procedures to ensure full asset coverage
  • Partner with IT and development teams to remediate vulnerabilities on schedule
  • Manage the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M)
  • Prepare, review, and update RMF and A&A documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs)
  • Ensure compliance with NIST and other applicable cybersecurity frameworks and DoD standards
  • Support internal and external audit preparation alongside the compliance team
  • Provide technical guidance on security best practices and support security awareness training
  • Participate in incident response activities as needed
  • Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security controls

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance
  • 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • CompTIA CySA+ certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
  • Hands-on experience with ACAS (Tenable/Nessus), SCAP, CIS Benchmarks, and Retina
  • Experience developing and supporting RMF and A&A documentation
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and compliance frameworks
  • Ability to work 100% onsite in Fort Rucker, AL
