Sr. Db2 Systems Programmer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Db2 Systems Programmer to support and maintain Db2 environments on IBM z/OS mainframe systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Db2 systems programming, including installation, configuration, SMP/E maintenance, version upgrades, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery.

This role requires strong technical expertise in Db2 for z/OS, along with the ability to independently manage systems programming responsibilities, coordinate with DBAs and managed-service teams, and provide advanced production support., * 8+ years of hands-on experience in Db2 for z/OS systems programming.

• Strong experience with Db2 installation, SMP/E maintenance, upgrades, and version migrations.
• Proven ability to configure, tune, troubleshoot, and recover Db2 subsystems.
• Experience working directly with IBM Support to resolve complex technical issues.
• Strong working knowledge of IBM z/OS, JCL, REXX, TSO/ISPF, and SDSF/IOF.
• Working knowledge of RACF security for Db2/IMS environments.
• Experience with Db2 connectivity and disaster recovery procedures.
• Experience coordinating and providing technical guidance to DBAs and managed-service resources.
• Ability to independently own Db2 systems programming responsibilities.
• Flexibility to support occasional after-hours, weekend, and holiday maintenance activities.

Important Candidate Screening Criteria Hands-on Db2 Systems Programming experience is mandatory. Candidates must have personally owned and performed Db2 systems programming activities, including installation, maintenance, subsystem configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting. Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to the following areas will not be considered:

• SQL development or SQL performance tuning.
• Database design and data modeling.
• Application development or application support.
• DBA activities without hands-on Db2 systems programming ownership.
