Android App Developer

• Primary responsibility (75%): lead design and development of a new Android mobile application for drone pilots.

• Secondary responsibility (25%): will be owning and maintaining the client’s existing iOS application for drone pilots.

• Collaborate with the client’s Product Management and UX teams to develop a deep understanding of customer problems including participation in customer calls and in-person customer visits, covering both internal customers and external customers.

• 6+ years of React, JavaScript

• 2+ years of hands-on Android development experience

• Passion for exploring, embracing, and executing software development with entirely new processes emerging in the age of AI. A willingness to confront the discomfort of leaving old processes behind, while simultaneously striving for quality architectures and maintainable source code.

Nice to have experience:

• Geospatial data processing and visualization: presenting geographically-located data on a map, basemaps, vector data, raster data, GeoJSON, ESRI Shapefiles, Cloud Optimized GeoTIFFS (COGs), rasterio, or geopandas.

• Drone flight applications

• Precision agriculture and digital agronomy

• C# .NET and/or Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)

• Prior web application experience

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, a related technical field, or equivalent experience in a related career field.
