Cobol/Mainframe Software Engineer/Dutch speaking/Brussels

As a senior Backend Software Engineer, you have over 5 years of experience in creating designs and codes for Back End software applications :

• Comprehend the functional design, based on the functional specifications.
• Draw up the program structure based on the technical design.
• Create and execute tests cases and modify existing programs for production.
• Design related changes to be updated in the design document.
• Conduct self & peer code review.
• Resolve the assigned incidents and defects and track to closure.
• Execute technical integration testing of the application in relation with interfacing applications.

• Next to a proven experience in software development, you have the following core competences : Agile Methodologies, Analytical thinking, Collaborating, Eager to learn, Independent, Problem solving, Result driven., * Solid technical experience in a Mainframe environment (COBOL, PL/1, EGL, DB2, IDz Workbench, CI/CD-GITHUB, Changeman, etc.)
• The ability to translate business requirements into a functional and technical design.
• Ability to work independently, get up to speed quickly (both technically and functionally), and be open to innovation
• A team player, both with IT and business colleagues
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey your ideas to others in a clear and structured manner
• You function well in a complex environment that requires a great deal of coordination with various stakeholders.
• Experience in the financial markets and investments is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Dutch (ideally) and English is essential (international context)
