Data Analyst

You’ll be TriplePoint’s Power BI report writer and analytical engine-translating business requirements into dashboards, validating data quality, and making sure every report that reaches a VP’s screen is accurate and well-designed.

• Design, build, and publish Power BI reports and dashboards for Finance, Operations, Project Management, and executive stakeholders across TriplePoint MEP brands.
• Work from semantic models and datasets built by the Data Architect-writing DAX measures, building calculated columns, and designing report layouts optimized for how each audience consumes data.
• Deliver reporting across key business domains: WIP and Percentage of Completion (POC) reporting, project margin analysis, AR aging by project, field service KPIs, payroll and labor cost, and multi-entity financial summaries.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and Project Management stakeholders to gather requirements, validate outputs, and iterate on reports until they answer the business question-not just display data.
• Maintain and improve existing Power BI dashboards-keeping data fresh, fixing broken visuals, and incorporating stakeholder feedback on a regular cadence.
• Validate IFS Cloud data appearing in Power BI against source system records-identify and escalate discrepancies before they reach leadership.
• Support the IFS lobby migration project by building Power BI-based alternatives to native IFS lobbies where approved.
• Document report logic, measure definitions, and data sources so the team’s BI knowledge base grows over time.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

• Finance and Operations leaders rely on your dashboards for monthly close, project reviews, and weekly operational check-ins.
• WIP and POC reports are live, reconciled to source, and used-not printed and manually checked against a spreadsheet.
• Every report you publish includes documentation: what it measures, where the data comes from, and what the key business rules are.
• Stakeholders come to you with new report requests because the reports you’ve already delivered actually worked.
• You collaborate seamlessly with the Data Architect-you know the semantic layer, you follow the governance standards, and you raise model issues before they become dashboard problems.

Do you have experience in SQL?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * 3+ years of Power BI report development experience-not just connecting to data, but designing well-structured, performant, audience-appropriate reports.

• Strong DAX proficiency: time intelligence, iterators, context transition, and financial calculation patterns (margins, variances, YTD/MTD, rolling averages).
• Demonstrated industry experience in construction, MEP contracting, field service, or project-based accounting-specifically WIP/Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting, job costing, retainage, and project billing.
• Working knowledge of at least one of the following ERP or business systems: IFS, ComputerEase, Vista by Viewpoint, Sage Intacct, or comparable construction/service ERP platforms.
• Solid SQL skills-able to query source data, validate report outputs, and understand the data structures your reports are built on.
• Experience working within governed Power BI environments: certified datasets, deployment pipelines, workspace permissions, and row-level security.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills-you ask the right clarifying questions before you build, and you can present a report to a CFO without over-explaining the technical details.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric or Azure-based data platforms is a meaningful advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field preferred; equivalent demonstrated experience will be considered.
