Design Engineer

The Role

You’ll join a close-knit engineering team responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies - from concept through to manufacture. Working with CNC-machined parts, enclosures and precision fittings, you’ll turn ideas into robust, cost-effective, production-ready designs., * Create and develop mechanical designs and 3D models using CAD software

• Produce detailed manufacturing drawings, BOMs and documentation
• Work closely with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure designs are optimised for machining and assembly
• Support prototype builds, testing and product validation
• Drive continuous improvement of existing designs for performance and cost
• Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality and procurement

• Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
• Solid experience designing machined components and assemblies
• Proficient with CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo or similar)
• Strong understanding of materials, tolerancing and manufacturing processes
• Hands-on approach with an eye for detail and problem-solving
• Confident communicator who thrives in a collaborative environment

• Salary up to £50,000 depending on experience
