Job description
- Oversee daily IT operations, including infrastructure management, network services, system administration, application support, and technical service delivery.
- Manage IT operations staff, assign responsibilities, establish priorities, and support employee development across technical teams.
- Monitor the performance, availability, and reliability of servers, networks, databases, cloud platforms, and business-critical applications.
- Coordinate infrastructure upgrades, system maintenance, software deployments, and technology improvements with relevant departments.
- Establish procedures for incident response, problem resolution, change management, and IT service continuity.
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, service providers, and external consultants, including service agreements and support contracts.
- Develop and monitor IT budgets, operating expenses, equipment requirements, and resource allocation plans.
- Review system performance reports, service metrics, and operational risks to identify areas requiring improvement.
- Ensure appropriate cybersecurity controls, access management procedures, data protection practices, and disaster recovery measures are maintained.
- Oversee IT asset management, software licensing, hardware procurement, and technology inventory records.
- Collaborate with business leaders to understand technology requirements and plan IT initiatives that support operational objectives.
- Prepare management reports covering infrastructure performance, service delivery, project progress, and departmental expenditure.
Requirements
- Experience in IT operations management, infrastructure management, systems administration, or technology service delivery.
- Strong understanding of enterprise IT environments, including servers, networking, operating systems, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience managing technical teams, coordinating IT projects, and overseeing infrastructure maintenance and service delivery.
- Knowledge of IT service management practices, including incident management, problem management, change control, and service continuity.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud, along with virtualization technologies and enterprise applications.
- Understanding of network security, identity and access management (IAM), endpoint protection, backup procedures, and disaster recovery planning.
- Experience with IT asset management, vendor coordination, technology procurement, and budget administration.
- Ability to interpret system performance metrics, identify operational risks, and develop practical solutions.
- Familiarity with IT service management platforms such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or similar tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- A bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent professional experience is also valuable.
- ITIL certification, project management qualifications, or relevant cloud certifications are an advantage.
