The successful candidate will assess existing pipelines, design reusable migration patterns, implement secure and automated GitLab pipelines, develop Terraform modules, validate deployments across environments, and support knowledge transfer to the client’s engineering teams.

This position is required in one of the following locations: Lafayette, LA, Knoxville, TN, Columbia, SC, Birmingham, AL

Your future duties and responsibilities

. Migrate prioritized application pipelines across development, testing, staging, and production environments.

. Integrate GitLab pipelines with cloud platforms, artifact repositories, security scanning tools, secrets management solutions, and monitoring platforms.

. Implement appropriate approval gates, role based access controls, auditability, and deployment controls.

. Troubleshoot pipeline failures, Terraform issues, environment specific problems, and deployment dependencies.

. Partner with application, infrastructure, security, testing, and operations teams to validate migrated pipelines.

. Document current state findings, target state architecture, migration procedures, operational support processes, and rollback plans.

. Provide deployment support and hypercare following each migration wave.

. Conduct technical walkthroughs and knowledge transfer sessions for engineering and support teams.

. Track progress, risks, dependencies, and completed outcomes against the three month delivery plan.

Requirements

5+years of hands on experience in DevOps, CI/CD engineering, release automation, or platform engineering.

. Advanced experience with GitLab, including GitLab CI/CD, runners, pipeline templates, variables, environments, artifacts, and deployment controls.

. Strong experience developing and maintaining Terraform modules and infrastructure as code solutions.

. Hands on experience with Jenkins pipelines, including scripted or declarative pipelines.

. Experience with IBM UrbanCode Deploy or a comparable enterprise deployment automation platform.

. Strong scripting experience using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Groovy.

. Experience supporting cloud based applications and infrastructure, preferably on AWS.

. Experience with Git based branching, merge request, versioning, and release management practices.

. Understanding of secrets management, vulnerability scanning, access controls, and secure CI/CD practices.

. Experience migrating enterprise applications without disrupting existing release schedules.

. Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.

. Ability to work in an outcome driven engagement with an accelerated delivery timeline.

Desired Skillset:

. Experience migrating CI/CD pipelines specifically from Jenkins and UCD to GitLab.

. Experience with AWS services, IAM, networking, and multi account environments.

. Experience integrating pipelines with tools such as Artifactory, SonarQube, ServiceNow, Vault, or AWS Secrets Manager.

. Knowledge of container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.

. Experience working in a regulated financial services environment.

. Familiarity with change management, production release controls, and audit requirements.

. GitLab, Terraform, AWS, Kubernetes, or DevOps related certifications.
