Systems Engineer 1 - Linux/Bash/Python/STE/STN/Cisco/Docker

Captivation is looking for software developers who can get stuff done while making a difference in support of the mission to protect our country., Captivation Software is looking for a mid level systems engineer who shall collaborate closely with customer stakeholders to support a closed system that spans multiple locations across Capabilities and Operations.

• Seven (7) years’ experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required
• Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required
• Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree., * Proficiency using the Linux CLI and Linux Tools
• Demonstrated experience administering Linux systems
• Experience developing automation scripts (Bash/Python) to streamline operational and maintenance tasks
• Experience with the Agency’s STE/STN security compliance requirements and the ability to ensure systems adhere to established policies
• Familiar with basic Cisco switch configuration
• Familiar with containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, and container
• Experience with creating, maintaining, and updating clear, accurate, and accessible technical documentation

Desired Skills:

• Experience administering Windows systems
• Experience with NetApp storage devices
• Experience with virtualization technologies including vSphere/vCenter
• Experience with the Atlassian Suite of Tools such as Jira and Confluence

• Annual Salary: $130,000 - $270,000 (Depends on the Years of Experience)
