Job description

The IT Support Technician is responsible for providing front-line technical support to city staff across all departments ensuring secure and efficient operations of IT systems, and providing technical support to city departments. This role involves managing network systems, software, and data management to enhance government services., * Provide help desk support (in-person, phone, ticketing system, and email) for technical issues.

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues (windows, basic networking, peripherals).
  • Ensure the functionality and security of city-issued devices (computers, tablets, mobile devices).
  • Monitor system performance and respond to security incidents.
  • Help support city-wide applications, including GIS, financial software, and public records systems.
  • Help Maintain City website.
  • Assist staff on Office 365 Outlook and Adobe products.
  • Configure all computers, phones, emails, and copier settings.
  • Ensuring software licensing and compliance with IT policies.
  • Arrange technology setup for meetings as needed.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a Master’s degree?, * High school diploma or equivalent with seven (7) years of experience supporting end-user IT technologies or general PC maintenance; OR an Associate degree in any field with five (5) years of related experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree in any field with three (3) years of related experience; OR a Master’s degree in any field with two (2) years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Valid Ohio Driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with City officials, staff, and the general public.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft operating system.
  • Familiarity with cloud services.

· Knowledge of IT security best practices, firewalls, and endpoint protection.

Benefits & conditions

SALARY: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour (up to 29 hrs. weekly)
