Job description

eNGINE builds Technical Teams. We are a Solutions and Placement firm shaped by decades of interaction with Technical professionals. Our inspiration is continuous learning and engagement with the markets we serve, the talent we represent, and the teams we build. Our Consulting Workforce is encouraged to enjoy career fulfillment in the form of challenging projects, schedule flexibility, and paid training/certifications. Successful outcomes start and finish with eNGINE.

eNGINE is hiring a skilled Database Engineer to own the health, performance, and security of our SQL Server environments. This is a hands-on role where your work directly supports the data infrastructure that analytics teams rely on every day. You’ll partner closely across Engineering and Analytics to keep things running smoothly - and to make them better over time.

What You’ll Do:

Manage and maintain SQL Server databases across on-prem and Azure environments, including Always On Availability Groups for high availability and disaster recovery. You’ll handle backups, restores, and recovery procedures, and take ownership of performance optimization through indexing, query tuning, and capacity planning.

You’ll also collaborate with application and analytics teams on deployments, schema changes, and data integrity - following structured change management processes and keeping documentation and runbooks current. Compliance matters here: you’ll help ensure our environments meet HIPAA and data governance requirements.

Requirements

Do you have experience in System tuning?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * 5+ years of SQL Server experience in on-prem and/or Azure environments

  • Deep familiarity with performance tuning, high availability, and backup/recovery strategies
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Redgate, SQL Profiler, or SolarWinds DPA
  • Solid grasp of security principles and access management
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to cross-team work
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
