Job description

We are seeking a Data Domain Lead to build and scale enterprise data governance capabilities in a greenfield environment. This role will be instrumental in defining how data is structured, governed, and leveraged across the organization. You will partner closely with business, product, and engineering teams to ensure data is accurate, secure, and aligned with regulatory expectations., * Establish and stand up data domains and governance frameworks from the ground up, including standards, policies, and stewardship models

  • Enforce enterprise data governance policies, access controls, and domain standards to meet regulatory, privacy, and legal requirements
  • Monitor and improve data quality across the domain; lead root-cause analysis of issues and drive remediation with stakeholders
  • Own and maintain domain metadata (definitions, lineage, classifications, and business terms) within the enterprise data catalog
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for data-related inquiries, access requests, and exception handling
  • Partner with Data Owners, Product Owners, and business SMEs to define data quality thresholds and ensure alignment across domains
  • Promote consistency across data products and drive cross-domain standards
  • Identify opportunities to enhance governance processes through automation and tooling
  • Mentor junior data stewards and advise teams on governance best practices and evolving regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Experience in data management, governance, or stewardship, ideally within regulated industries such as financial services, fintech, healthcare, or pharmaceuticals. CDMP certification is a plus
  • Proven track record of building data governance frameworks from the ground up, particularly in greenfield environments, early-stage organizations, or emerging governance functions
  • Hands-on experience with governance and metadata tools (e.g., Collibra, BigID), data quality platforms, and strong SQL/T-SQL skills; familiarity with AWS and experience working with both relational and NoSQL data stores

Preferred

  • Experience operating in high-growth or transformation environments
  • Exposure to modern data architectures (data lakes, warehouses, cloud-native platforms)
  • Prior experience mentoring or leading data stewards or governance team members

Benefits & conditions

  • Opportunity to build and shape an enterprise data governance program from the ground up
  • High visibility and collaboration with senior leadership and cross-functional teams
  • A dynamic, fast-paced environment focused on data-driven decision making
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package
