Job description

We are looking for technical team members at all levels who want to push themselves to deliver best in market SaaS solutions. We offer a challenging environment where you will have to grow, adapt, and use your skills consistently. Our products are in demand because we solve regulatory problems for our customers. Our customers rely on us in the moments that matter. Engineering delivers on that promise.

As a DFIN Staff engineer, you’ll own projects end to end, design architecture, write code that others will look towards as a standard, understand how we operate our systems and ensure our technology continues to evolve and improve.

This isn’t your simple, run-of-the-mill, boring system. This is a system with an interesting mix of design challenges such as, messaging, concurrency, network resiliency, data replication, load/demand prediction, eventual consistency, observability engineering, build/deployment optimization, and AI.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement modular, cohesive frontend and backend services in distributed systems that are resilient, efficient, and reliable.

  • Ensure automated tests and frameworks drive high software quality, support refactoring, and enable fast integration and delivery.

  • Build concurrent and asynchronous systems with resilient network communications.

  • Design, refactor, and develop within micro-frontend SPAs.

  • Leverage AI, ML, and vector databases in development workflows and product features.

  • Decompose complex components into clear architectural boundaries.

  • Develop advanced algorithms and combinatorial solutions for complex problems.

  • Apply observability practices including instrumentation, queries, dashboards, alerts, and distributed tracing.

  • Monitor production performance, errors, and system usage.

  • Optimize build, deployment, and infrastructure as code pipelines across local and cloud environments.

  • Analyze escaped defects to identify root causes and corrective actions.

  • Design and develop defensively to improve security beyond OWASP and zero trust through deep system understanding.

  • Provide clear, actionable feedback through pull request reviews.

  • Stay current with relevant technologies, tools, and engineering practices.

  • Collaborate across product, engineering, SRE, and cross-functional teams, including offshore partners.

  • Identify, surface, and proactively address technical debt.

  • Contribute to technical roadmap planning.

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * 15+ years hands-on experience in C#, Node.js, or Typescript services.

  • 10+ years in full-stack distributed systems.

  • Experience with SQL Server and analytical platforms (e.g., Microsoft Fabric). Strong SQL skills for querying and troubleshooting.

  • Strong Azure and cloud-native experience, or equivalent cloud platforms.

  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline optimization.

  • Solid understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, and design patterns.

  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and performance trade-offs.

  • Experience with secure coding practices and financial systems security.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience with React (preferred), Angular, or other SPA frameworks.

Experience in multiple areas such as:

  • Browser APIs

  • Performance profiling (compute, memory, latency)

  • Algorithm design and optimization

  • Messaging systems (Azure Service Bus, RabbitMQ)

  • Distributed systems or P2P architectures

  • APIs (REST, WebSockets, gRPC)

  • Frontend testing

  • Browser Canvas

  • Containers (Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Stream processing or reactive programming

  • Experience in regulated environments.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
