Job description
- Under direct supervision, this classification assists in the Information Technology Division by providing help desk support, computer workstation hardware and software support and equipment troubleshooting to Court personnel.
- This is the journey-level classification for the Help Desk Technician series. At this level, the incumbent is under general supervision and has responsibility for more complex technology-related duties and troubleshooting tasks.
- This series class is specifically distinguished from the Information Technology Analyst classification in that the latter design, recommend and build automated information systems.
- Help Desk Technician positions are flexibly staffed; incumbents advance to the higher level after the requisite knowledge, skills and proficiencies are mastered.
Essential Functions
- When assigned, all of the essential functions and tasks listed below must be accomplished effectively, are standard, and may not be inclusive of all functions and tasks that may be assigned. The Court reserves the right to assign or reassign duties as required to achieve business and operational objectives.
- Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Receive and respond to inquiries and requests for technical assistance from end-users
- Diagnose hardware, software and network connectivity problems
- Maintain help desk ticketing system and monitor trends
- Install, configure and update PCs, laptops, scanners, kiosks and equipment
- Maintain printers and coordinate vendor repairs
- Provide VoIP phone system support
- Support audio/video systems
- Maintain inventory and logs of IT assets
- Support remote appearance systems
- Connect devices to LAN
- Maintain inventory of supplies and deployable equipment
- Assist with website and online services
- Install network equipment and cabling
- Support IT team projects and troubleshooting
- Travel to court locations if required
Requirements
Do you have experience in Web design?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, The helpdesk resource will need to have basic helpdesk skills and customer support as well as VIP and white-glove support experience. Most importantly the candidate must have court and judicial system experience and familiarity with Case Management and e-Court systems., * Customer service principles

Qualifications Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
- 2 years as Help Desk Technician 1 (Placer Court) OR 5 years professional help desk experience including: Hardware/software troubleshooting 1 year with Court case management system
Preference for certifications:
- CompTIA A+
- Network+
- Security+
