Job description
The Administration for Childrenās Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement, and programs for youth in the community.
The Division of Child Protection (DCP) is charged with investigating all allegations of child abuse and maltreatment that the city receives from the New York Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment. The Division of Child Protection encompasses Child Protective and Placement Services. Child Protective Services include the Child Protective Borough Offices, Family Preservation and Family Services Unit, Emergency Childrenās Services (ECS), and the Office of Special Investigations (OSI).
The Project Management and Data Innovation (PMDI) Unit within the Division of Child Protection (DCP) provides critical support to borough offices and program areas by strengthening operational effectiveness, improving the quality of safety and risk assessments, and enhancing service delivery to children and families. The candidate will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:

Planning and implementing projects that support program development and community-centered practice, including evaluating program materials, researching information, consulting with stakeholders, and ensuring deliverables are completed clearly, accurately, and on schedule

Preparing evaluation and data summary reports using observations, program plans, and collected information to support decision-making and improve program outcomes

Making policy and procedure recommendations by analyzing current systems, researching alternative approaches, and identifying opportunities to strengthen practice

Reviewing program operations by collecting information, analyzing statistics and other data, and providing management with documentation that supports sustainable and effective practice, ensuring all analysis is accurate, relevant, and complete

Analyzing requests from leadership and program staff through research and data analysis to produce comprehensive, accurate, and clear documents, reports, and recommendations

Preparing and implementing detailed project plans by identifying milestones, scheduling tasks, and monitoring progress to ensure timely completion

Supporting PMDIās mission by improving program quality, strengthening community centered services, and enhancing outcomes for children and families, 2., High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or, New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Stakeholder management?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * Utilize digital tools and platforms to project manage, analyze and visualize insights, and manage engagements with stakeholder groups, including, but not limited to, using Airtable, FIGMA, Miro, InDesign, and Google and Microsoft suites of tools.
- Use data analysis and visualization methods and platforms, including Excel, Tableau, Power BI, to empower people and teams to understand data, identify problems, develop data-driven solutions, and measure outcomes.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Strength in using Excel for quantitative analysis is beneficial
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and project management skills, and able to meet deadlines under time constraints and manage multiple competing priorities., 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or, 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to ā1ā or ā2ā above, However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in ā1ā above.
