Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced Field Operations Domain Architect to serve as the strategic architecture leader for PPL’s Field Operations domain. This individual will act as the primary liaison between business and technology teams, driving enterprise-wide architecture initiatives, transformation programs, and technology roadmaps that support utility field operations and asset management objectives.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive utility industry experience, deep enterprise architecture expertise, and a proven track record of leading large-scale transformation initiatives while engaging with executive leadership and consulting partners., * Serve as the primary Domain Architect for Field Operations, ensuring alignment between business strategy and technology investments.

  • Partner with business leaders, IT stakeholders, and consulting firms to translate business objectives into enterprise architecture strategies and solution roadmaps.
  • Define and maintain end-to-end architecture for Field Operations systems, applications, integrations, and supporting platforms.
  • Lead architecture and transformation initiatives involving:
  • SAP IS-U
  • SAP S/4HANA
  • Hexagon
  • Clevest
  • IBM Maximo
  • Field Service Management and Asset Management platforms
  • Develop target-state architectures, capability models, reference architectures, and multi-year transformation roadmaps.
  • Provide architectural governance and ensure alignment across enterprise platforms, integration layers, and middleware solutions.
  • Drive modernization initiatives focused on operational efficiency, workforce enablement, asset reliability, and digital transformation.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to support strategic planning, investment decisions, and technology prioritization.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions for utility field operations.
  • Ensure seamless integration between SAP and non-SAP enterprise ecosystems.
  • Provide thought leadership and best-practice guidance in utility operations, asset management, and enterprise architecture.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Working in the energy & utilities sector?, * 20+ years of overall IT experience with significant experience in the Utilities industry.

  • Extensive experience leading Field Operations and Asset Management transformation programs.
  • Deep expertise in Enterprise Architecture methodologies and frameworks such as TOGAF or equivalent.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • SAP IS-U
  • SAP S/4HANA
  • Hexagon
  • Clevest
  • IBM Maximo
  • Field Service Management platforms
  • Enterprise Integration Architecture
  • Proven experience defining enterprise capability models, target-state architectures, and transformation roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and engage C-level executives and senior business stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating with leading consulting organizations such as McKinsey, Accenture, Deloitte, PwC, or similar firms.
  • Strong understanding of utility operations, work management, asset lifecycle management, and field workforce processes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • TOGAF Certification or equivalent Enterprise Architecture certification.
  • Experience with cloud transformation initiatives within utility organizations.
  • Knowledge of integration technologies, middleware platforms, and API-led architectures.
  • Experience supporting digital utility modernization programs.
