Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Solution Architect to lead the design and implementation of manufacturing capabilities within a global Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) environment.
Must be a US Citizen or existing Green Card Holder. We are unable to consider Visa Sponsorships of any kind at this time.
This role is responsible for defining scalable manufacturing solutions across a complex ERP ecosystem, including the integration and migration of newly acquired business units into a unified D365 platform. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in manufacturing operations-both discrete and/or process-along with strong functional expertise in D365 and the ability to collaborate effectively with both business and IT stakeholders.
This is a hands-on role requiring a mix of architectural vision and execution, working closely with ERP, MES, data, and integration teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesManufacturing Solution Design
- Design comprehensive manufacturing workflows within D365, including:
- Production planning and scheduling (MRP/MPS)
- Production execution (discrete and/or process manufacturing)
- Shop floor operations
- Inventory and warehouse interactions
- Develop solutions that support multi-site and multi-entity manufacturing environments
- Translate business needs into detailed system designs, functional documentation, and architectural deliverables
- Ensure designs are aligned with enterprise standards and long-term ERP strategy
ERP & MES Integration
- Partner with technical teams to define and support integration between D365 and MES platforms
- Establish clear boundaries between systems (ERP, MES, LIMS, etc.) to define ownership of data and processes
- Support design and execution of integrations for:
- Production orders
- Inventory synchronization
- Quality tracking and product traceability
Transformation & Standardization
- Lead initiatives to harmonize and standardize manufacturing processes across entities transitioning from legacy ERP systems
- Identify opportunities to reduce customization by leveraging standard D365 capabilities
- Support long-term transformation planning tied to ERP and manufacturing system roadmaps
Implementation Support
- Serve as a functional lead during ERP implementations by:
- Facilitating design sessions and fit/gap analysis
- Guiding system configuration and decision-making
- Supporting testing, validation, and deployment activities
- Collaborate with implementation partners and internal teams to ensure successful delivery
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with stakeholders across manufacturing, operations, supply chain, quality, and finance
- Partner with developers, integration teams, and technical architects to align functional and technical solutions
- Act as a trusted advisor on manufacturing systems, providing guidance on best practices and capabilities, This position plays a key role in transitioning from a fragmented ERP environment to a modern, unified D365 platform. The Manufacturing Solution Architect will directly influence how manufacturing operations are designed, integrated, and optimized across the organization, supporting long-term scalability and operational excellence.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Systems architecture within manufacturing?, * 8+ years of experience in ERP solution architecture, functional leadership, or similar roles
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations manufacturing functionality, including:
- Production Control
- Master Planning (MRP/MPS)
- Inventory Management
- Proven experience working in manufacturing environments (experience in regulated industries is a plus)
- Experience working with or integrating MES solutions
- Strong understanding of:
- Manufacturing processes (discrete and/or process)
- Supply chain and inventory operations
- Shop floor execution and production workflows
- Experience supporting global or multi-entity ERP implementations, * Experience with ERP consolidation initiatives or post-acquisition system integration
- Familiarity with Azure-based integration approaches (e.g., APIs, middleware, event-driven architecture)
- Exposure to quality systems, LIMS, or regulated manufacturing environments
- Experience leveraging Power Platform tools (Power BI, Power Apps) for operational visibility and insights
- Microsoft certifications related to D365 F&O are a plus
