Job description
The Senior Network Engineer is expected to be able to accomplish the following:

Lead the design and planning of complex network communication systems, producing detailed schematics and architectural documentation to support enterprise-wide modernization initiatives.

Develop future-state network strategies that account for capacity planning, mission growth, emerging technologies, and DIA operational requirements.

Conduct in-depth cost/benefit analyses for hardware and software solutions, evaluating performance, lifecycle requirements, and long-term operational impacts.

Evaluate and report on new communication technologies to enhance network capability, resilience, and efficiency.
-
Lead the testing of network designs including performance validation, interoperability testing, and engineering risk assessments.

Serve as a senior technical authority for approving significant network changes and modernization efforts.

Monitor and validate network hardware configurations to ensure alignment with operational baselines and mission requirements.

Optimize network performance, availability, redundancy, and security across LAN, WAN, MAN, and secure network enclaves.

Plan and oversee network enhancements, upgrades, and lifecycle replacements with minimal mission disruption.

Advise network users, mission stakeholders, and government leadership on hardware requirements, configuration constraints, and system capabilities.

Produce engineering guidance, assessments, and system documentation in support of operational and programmatic decisionmaking.

Maintain broad technical expertise across network systems, including routers, firewalls, multiplexers, bridges, gateways, and associated network hardware and interconnections.

Support secure integration efforts across multiple vendors, platforms, and classified technology stacks.
-
May be assigned responsibility for managing systems administration functions and associated technical staff.

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development, skill enhancement, and knowledge growth.

Active TS/SCI +CI Polyclearance

BS, 12-15 years of relevant experience; MS, 10-13 years; PhD, 10+ years, + Cisco CCNP Enterprise or Security

Juniper JNCIP

Aruba Certified Professional

Palo Alto PCNSE

Fortinet NSE 4+ Demonstrated mastery in network engineering within secure or classified government environments., The employee is frequently required to lift up to 25 pounds; and up to 50 pounds. The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The salary range displayed is an estimate and will be determined on several factors regarding the individualās particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract parameters and organizational requirements. The displayed salary is one component of the total compensation package for employees.
