Job description

Gramophone specializes in high-quality lighting and shading solutions. As we expand, we are seeking a Lutron Programmer capable of commissioning exceptional, reliable systems and providing outstanding service to clients from the outset.

Please note this is NOT an IT, stage theater or sound engineer position. It is a field technical position with experience with audio/video, home automation, integration and specially Lutron.

What You’ll Do

  • Program, commission, and optimize Lutron systems (HomeWorks QS/QSX, RadioRA 2/3, Ketra, QS shades).
  • Build scenes, schedules, and integrations with AV/control platforms (e.g., Control4, Crestron, Savant).
  • Conduct on-site testing, troubleshooting, and final sign-off with clients/GCs/designers.
  • Create project files, documentation, and as-built records; maintain version control and backups.
  • Specify and make recommendations for LED lighting solutions.
  • Design compatible dimmer to LED fixture compatible systems.
  • Collaborate with project managers/field techs to meet timelines and quality standards.
  • Train end users and provide post-install support and refinements.
  • Uphold safety, cleanliness, and professionalism on every job site.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in VLAN?, * 1-3+ years programming and commissioning Lutron systems (HomeWorks QS/QSX or RadioRA 2/3 required).

  • Solid grasp of lighting control concepts: scenes, loads, keypads, processors, integration protocols.
  • Comfort reading plans: risers, wiring diagrams, load schedules, device maps.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a calm, client-friendly demeanor.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to travel locally to job sites.
  • Lutron certifications (HomeWorks, Ketra, Shades, Designer/Programming courses).
  • Experience with IP networking (VLANs, DHCP reservations, remote access).
  • Familiarity with low-voltage wiring standards and electrical best practices.
  • Experience integrating with 3rd-party platforms (Crestron/Control4/Savant).
  • Basic lighting design or shading layout experience.
