Job description

You will own the operational maturity of our network security function, leading a team of engineers to ensure robust monitoring, rapid incident response, and disciplined change management across a complex, high-throughput data center environment. Working alongside Network Engineering, Infrastructure, and the broader Security organization, you will align tooling, telemetry, and process to keep our environment secure, stable, and continuously improving., * Own the security posture and operational health of the firm’s data center and HPC network infrastructure, ensuring resilient and secure connectivity across our facilities, cloud interconnects, and partner environments

  • Lead and mentor a team of network and infrastructure security engineers, establishing clear accountability, KPIs, and development paths
  • Develop and enforce operational standards for network security monitoring, alerting, and escalation, ensuring 24x7 coverage and rapid response capability
  • Lead response coordination for network and infrastructure security incidents, driving containment, root cause analysis, and long-term remediation
  • Align firewall, NAC, EDR, and SIEM telemetry to enable rapid detection and containment of threats across the data center environment
  • Ensure secure handling of third-party, vendor, and out-of-band connectivity into our facilities, enforcing architectural and security standards at every boundary
  • Embed change control discipline into all network and security modifications, with rigorous version control practices for automation code and configurations
  • Develop and maintain documentation for network security architecture, automation solutions, configuration guides, and operational runbooks
  • Drive automation across network security operations, reducing manual effort and improving consistency and response times at scale
  • Ensure vendor solutions and integrations align with the firm’s architectural and security standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an IT-related field or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience in network and infrastructure security, with 5+ years in a mid-level or senior engineering role
  • Strong working knowledge of network security technologies including NG firewalls, VPNs, WAFs, IDS/IPS, NAC, ZTNA, proxies, and DNS
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM, security orchestration and automation (SOAR), DLP, and network forensics tooling
  • Familiarity with data center networking technologies including BGP, VxLAN, and high-throughput switching environments
  • Experience with leading network and security vendors and platforms, including Palo Alto, Cisco, Arista, and Meraki
  • Proficiency in network automation and scripting using Python, with strong version control practices using Git
  • Solid understanding of Linux and experience operating in large-scale, Linux-heavy infrastructure environments
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills in fast-paced, high-availability environments

Nice to Have

  • Experience with infrastructure inventory and network source-of-truth tooling such as NetBox
  • Background in securing bare-metal or HPC-scale network environments
  • Familiarity with out-of-band management networks and secure remote access in data center contexts
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP Security, PCNSE, CISSP, or equivalent
