Job description

Lead performance tuning and optimization efforts across Oracle Exadata-based data platforms and data pipelines. Analyze and optimize SQL queries, database objects, and workloads to improve throughput, latency, and scalability. Interpret and act on Oracle Explain Plans, AWR, ASH, and other performance diagnostics to resolve complex performance issues. Design and recommend scalable and performant data architectures aligned with business and data requirements. Partner with data engineers, architects, and application teams to ensure optimal end-to-end performance of data pipelines. Provide expertise in handling very large data volumes and high-concurrency environments. Support and optimize real-time and near real-time processing systems. Identify performance bottlenecks proactively and implement preventative design and tuning strategies. Establish performance benchmarks, tuning standards, and best practices for data platforms.

Requirements

Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata. Deep expertise in performance tuning and optimization, including SQL tuning and indexing strategies. Solid understanding of Oracle Explain Plans and performance analysis tools (AWR, ASH, SQL Monitor). Proven experience working with large-scale data platforms and systems handling massive data volumes. Experience designing and optimizing data pipelines for performance and scalability. Strong understanding of data modeling, data access patterns, and data requirements translation into optimal designs. Experience supporting real-time or low-latency data processing systems. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex performance issues across layers. Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications Experience with high-throughput transactional or analytical systems. Exposure to hybrid or multi-platform data architectures. Experience working closely with application teams to influence performance-aware development. Ability to mentor teams on performance engineering best practices. Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
