Job description
We are seeking a highly organized and technically skilled Drafting & Systems Lead to oversee engineering workflows, drafting operations, and production data systems. This role goes beyond traditional drafting responsibilities and includes leadership of the drafting team, ownership of manufacturing software systems, and coordination of project workflows between departments., * Coordinate incoming projects from the Sales team and assign work to drafting staff
- Manage project timelines and ensure drafting deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule
- Produce drawings, specifications, and machine programs as needed
- Resolve design and production issues proactively to support manufacturing flow
Systems & Software Management
- Maintain and update product management software including Cabinet Vision, Project Pak, Shop Pak, and related systems
- Ensure labor and material costing data remains accurate within production systems
- Support the development and implementation of drafting and manufacturing best practices
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, train, and support the drafting team
- Assist with performance evaluations and hiring decisions
- Hold team members accountable to quality and production standards
- Promote continuous improvement and process consistency throughout the department
Operations & Continuous Improvement
- Assist with operations scheduling and workflow coordination
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and documentation development
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, engineering, and production departments
- Support strategic operational improvements and manufacturing efficiency initiatives
Requirements
Do you have experience in Training?, The ideal candidate has strong CAD and drafting experience, leadership ability, and a process-improvement mindset. This position requires collaboration across sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure projects move efficiently from design through manufacturing., Required:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience with CAD-related software
- Strong understanding of drafting principles and manufacturing processes
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven problem-solving ability in a production or technical environment
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to train, mentor, and hold a team accountable
Preferred:
- Experience with Cabinet Vision and Project Pak
- Experience with frameless cabinetry construction
- Prior cabinetry construction or installation experience
- Knowledge of business and management principles including budgeting and resource allocation
- Experience leading teams in a production environment
Working Conditions:
- Office and production environment with frequent collaboration across departments
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to complete pre-employment drug screening
